New partnership with NRL Cowboys House to support North Queensland Youth
Sun Metals, Townsville Logistics, and Townsville Marine Logistics have partnered with Cowboys Community Foundation for a while, and are now proud to announce the recent Friend of the House partnership with NRL Cowboys House, furthering our commitment to support Indigenous youth in North Queensland. This strategic relationship aims to empower young students, and provide mentorship to help shape successful, fulfilling futures.
NRL Cowboys House is a unique boarding facility offering complete wrap-around support for young Indigenous students from remote Queensland communities. By partnering with NRL Cowboys House, Sun Metals, Townsville Logistics, and Townsville Marine Logistics will contribute both financial support and hands-on resources, directly impacting the students' access to training and opportunities.
“Our mission extends beyond the boundaries of our operations – it’s about building sustainable, positive change in our community,” said Jessica Jenkins, HR and Communications Manager at Sun Metals, Townsville Logistics and Townsville Marine Logistics. “Partnering with NRL Cowboys House gives us a meaningful way to support young people who are the future of North Queensland, offering them the guidance and resources they need to thrive.”
Through this collaboration, Sun Metals, Townsville Logistics, and Townsville Marine Logistics will engage in various activities throughout the year, including on-site learning experiences, opportunities to collaborate on creative projects and community events designed to inspire, and motivate the next generation. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to driving positive social outcomes and creating a brighter future for regional Queensland.
Cowboys Community Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer Fiona Pelling, welcomed the partnership.
“Our Friends of the House are invaluable in ensuring our NRL Cowboys House students are set up for success, no matter their background," she said.
