Sung Chae (Ron) Lee
Chief Executive Officer
Sung Chae (Ron) Lee joined Sun Metals in 2022, bringing a wealth of experience in business development and leadership.
From 2018 to 2022, Ron was the General Director at Zinc Oxide Corporation Vietnam, developing high quality business strategies and plans, ensuring their alignment with short term and long term objectives.
Prior to this, Ron was the Director of Strategies and Planning with Korea Zinc and had responsibility for exploring new businesses and developing overseas resource projects in multiple countries.
Ron will apply his extensive knowledge to continue to lead Sun Metals to achieve safe and efficient operations and ensure the long stability of Sun Metals.
Ron holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Accounting.
Michael Choi
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO and board member, Michael reviews and reports on profit and loss and cash flow; identifies existing financial and operational strengths and weakness; and provides advice on financial matters to support strategic decision making.
Michael began his career as a Financial Auditor at Deloitte & Touche LLP, New York for banking, securities and health insurance and he subsequently conducted financial audits and advisory at PwC Korea.
In 2017, he joined Korea Zinc as a Director of Strategies and Planning and was responsible for preparing and implementing comprehensive business plans and overseeing business operations and foreign subsidiaries. Michael joined Sun Metals in January 2020.
Michael holds a Bachelor Degree of Science in Business and Economics with a Major in Accounting.
DK Choi
Chief Operating Officer
DK joined Sun Metals in 2015 as Operations Manager and was later appointed Operations Director in 2019. As of July 2024, he is now the Chief Operating Officer.
DK commenced his career as a Process Engineer with Korea Zinc where he held that role for 13 years. DK then took up the position of Process Improvement Superintendent with Sun Metals for 3 years, prior to returning to Korea Zinc to become Manager of Roasting/Sulphuric Acid department.
As Operations Director, DK contributes to strategic decision making to ensure effective utilisation of capital, identification of investment and business development projects. He also manages risk strategies and policies to protect company assets, operational functions and business matters.
DK holds a Bachelor Degree in Metallugical Engineering.
Jason Brown
Director - Risk & Assurance
Jason joined Sun Metals in 2014 and was appointed to the role of General Manager Risk and Assurance in March 2023. As of July 2024, he was appointed the role of Director - Risk & Assurance.
Prior to this, Jason has fulfilled health and safety roles in the mining and defence industries. Jason believes in delivering safe and successful outcomes through the understanding and management of critical risk.
As General Manager Risk and Assurance, Jason’s role is to set the strategic vision, create a shared understanding of what has to be achieved and deliver key Risk and Assurance initiatives to meet corporate requirements and legal obligations. Jason engages key decision makers and provide strategic advice about health, safety, training, security and systems matters for Sun Metals Corporation and associated entities.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Business Administration.
